Learn to Ring Bells

Bell Ringers

Bellringing is part of the culture of our country.  Learning to ring church bells is a mixture of physical exercise and mental agility with fun thrown in.  You do not have to be good at maths or musical! The initial teaching will take several hours spread over a period of weeks at a local tower.  It requires commitment but the new learner will be guided by experienced trainers who will teach the handling of a bell rope in a correct and safe manner. Being able to handle a bell is the first step to becoming a competent and confident ringer. Take a look at a video issued by the Suffolk Guild of Ringers by clicking on this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjQCmBYKea8.

Once this is achieved, the new learner can join in with the rest of the band at weekly practice sessions.  Learning to ring church bells is stimulating and a good way to make new friends and be part of a team.
