The National Lottery Heritage Fund

The A-Peal for Mary Tudor steering group are grateful to The National Lottery Heritage Fund for their award of £142,033 towards the cost of our project. Thanks to the players of the Lottery which has made this award possible.

Our project will support the living legacy of bell ringing. A programme to train new bell ringers is already underway.

Our village community have engaged comprehensively in the project and are enthusiastic about the outcome. People have demonstrated their interest in many ways from co-ordinating fundraising events and schemes, willingly participating in working groups when asked and coming forward for bell ringer training. It has, as one village remarked ‘brought the village together’.

In order to raise awareness in the heritage of the church and the churchyard, the steering group has initiated further undertakings which form part of our Heritage Fund grant.
